Florence Firefighter Charities thanks YOU!

We have some exciting news to share and some extraordinary “Thank You’s” to deliver!
Florence Firefighter Charities would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to so many contributors for assisting us in this year’s toy drive. This special project that our Firefighter Charities group puts together, allows us to assist in making Christmas a little brighter for some local Florence families who have fallen on hard times this year. Together, we were able to assist 71 families and 208 children!
In an effort to reach the community, our firefighters serve up free hot pancakes to the public at our annual pancake breakfast toy drive event; with Santa as our special guest! We are so appreciative to work with the Anthem Safeway for this fun community event. Safeway also gave us a donation toward some supplies needed for the event. East Valley Firefighter Charities donated the use of their amazing grilling trailer for the hundreds of pancakes we made, along with one of their “grill masters”.
We would like to extend a special thank you, to the Anthem Legends Community in Sun City. This community did a phenomenal job, once again, creating a walking tour of six beautifully decorated homes for Christmas. This event is open to their community with toy donations as admission to the tour. We are so thankful to be the recipients of their fun, well-organized event and due to their generosity; we were able to expand and take on more families in need. Elliot Electric Company made an additional surprise donation at their event. Also in Anthem, two different neighborhood groups held their own events to help gather donations for our toy drive. We appreciate their efforts and generosity!
Proenergy is a company out of Texas, working on a project, near Florence, Arizona. The work crews pulled together donations and went shopping with a list of our most needed items and they definitely fulfilled it! Their kindness and involvement made an impactful difference this year and the Florence community is extremely grateful!
We share the success of this toy drive alongside the CERT members, and community members who volunteered their time and manpower with event set up/take down, toy collecting, shuttling, organizing and the WRAPPING of so many gifts! Over the course of three days, we wrapped hundreds of gifts and bagged them up for the parents/guardians to collect at the fire station. You name it; they can wrap it! During our three days of wrapping, A&M Pizza was kind enough to provide lunch for our wrappers with some of the biggest pizza we have ever seen! Thank you to A&M Pizza for their delicious donated lunch for our amazing volunteers.
Lastly, The Florence Firefighter Charities would like to thank the Fire Department Administration, Town of Florence staff, several individual business donors, and the Florence/Anthem community for donating to this special cause. On behalf of the families who were the recipients of this year’s toy drive, they humbly expressed their appreciation and deep gratitude for the helping hand they were granted this year. As a community, we were able to help make Christmas a little brighter for their children. Thank you.
